Hanging out with the boys

Houdini snuggles up to Ninja on me. After 2 weeks the kitties are bonding quite well. Posted by Picasa

Hanging out...

Things are going great between the 3, and Houdini is catching some down time with Ninja. Posted by Picasa

Dinner Time

Nothing creates a better bonding experience than sharing a meal together. Posted by Picasa

The great explorers

The 2 speedy balls of fur have begun to investigate the garden. Posted by Picasa

Hang in there Ninja...it's almost Friday

Someone is looking forward to the long week-end with a grueling schedule of kitten-sitting for the next few days while everyone gets settled in. Posted by Picasa

Seeing things to scale...

Ninja may be outnumbered, but he certainly outweighs the combined weight of the kittens by a large margin (for now...) Posted by Picasa

But it's OUTside and I'm STUCK in here....

Angelina ponders some of the big questions as she observes mommy squirrel outside. Posted by Picasa

Oh my god ! There are squirrels out there !

Angelina is awestruck and fascinated with the outdoor critters and chases them back and forth in the window. Posted by Picasa

Just too damn cute....

Houdini is just picture perfect as he observes the back yard and watches the squirrels and birds....nature beware ! Posted by Picasa

Look! They match!

Houdini and Angelina are not from the same litter (nor do they have the same type of fur) but their markings are similar and they look so damn cute together. This is the 2 of them "napping" together. Posted by Picasa

In Memorium

Lucille left us on Friday April 7th and will be greatly missed by all of the family. Her gentle demeanour and infectious purr will be always in our hearts. 16 years is a long time for a cat, and she had a good and happy life, and I am sure she is off to an even better place.

I found this little poem which says most of what we are feeling.
Rejean, Ninja and myself will all miss her terribly.
Four Feet in Heaven
Your favorite chair is vacant now,
No eager purrs to greet me,
No softly padded paws to run ecstatically to meet me.
No coaxing rubs, no plaintive cry
Will say it's time for feeding
I've put away your bowl
And all the things you won't be needing.
But I will miss you, little friend,
For I could never measure
The happiness you brought to me,
The comfort and the pleasure.
And since God put you here to share
In earthly joys and sorrow,
I'm sure there'll be a place for you
In heaven's bright tomorrow. Posted by Picasa

It's a girl !

This is Angelina ( Angel for short) and she is named after a certain short actress who is as tough as nails..... merely minutes after being through the door she started staking out territory and growling at anyone who tried to get near "her" ball. She is also a little purr machine. Posted by Picasa

It's a boy !

This Saturday we picked up 2 kittens from the SPCA. This is Houdini (soon to be a master of escaping), who at first regard seemed to be very low key..... of course 15 minutes after bringing him home he started running rampant everywhere. Posted by Picasa

On top of the world

Of course, what one kitten discovers is usually fuel for the other, and once Houdini had seen how interesting the plants looked he couldn't resist and made his way into the upper plant to check out the view Posted by Picasa

Me Angelina...you Jane

Now that we are on day 2 of the kittens, it seems that a certain little lady likes plants....even if they are a hisbiscus that has seen better days. I think that someone will really enjoy the garden in a couple of weeks. Posted by Picasa

Houdini at nap time

Mr. Houdini is more interested in playing than napping, but he does quiet down eventually and cuddles up with the rest of us. Posted by Picasa

Sure it's nap time but....

As you can see, Angelina is tuckered out, while Houdini is still snooping around and looking for trouble. Posted by Picasa

Aren't they all Angels when they sleep?

After the adventure of the car ride and exploring a new home it was time for a nap... and someone had no problem at all adapting to a new bed. Posted by Picasa

Another look at Houdini

Here's the little escape artist practicing his techniques with an unwilling mouse. His fur is a fun mix of black, white and gray. Posted by Picasa

Another look at Angelina

As you can see, Angelina loves playing with the ball and has a fun black and white motif to her fur. Posted by Picasa
