Ninja checks things out as the first of the lilies comes into bloom. There are tons of them on their way, and will brighten up the wall of vines with their orange flowers. 
Cats seem to be intelligent creatures, but you have to question it when you see the 3 of them hanging out under the bird feeders waiting for the birds. Possibly for the really stupid birds !?
It's been summer officially now for a few days, and about one month since we planted and we are seeing the results in the garden. There are lots of lush green plants and tons of flowers that are blooming, with others on their way.
Life is rough as one of the squirrels (collectively known as the Army of Darkness) takes a rest on the stairs. The little beasts enjoy the snacks of nuts and sunflower seeds that we leave out for them, and the cats enjoy the sport of chasing them around.
This lovely flower is an "Aquilegia", but since that doesn't really roll off the tongue it's common name is Music Rouge et Blanc. It has a beautiful shape and great color combination.
Thank god the phone is not plugged in ... otherwise Mr. Houdini might get a rude surprise if it rang and we would be peeling him off the ceiling.
Angelina still thinks that she is part pit-bull, so like any good puppy ( errr...kitty) she loves to play fetch. The little monster will keep running and returning with the ball until either you (which is more likely to happen) or her tire of the game.
Angelina has decided to bring some of her toys outside .... atleast she chose a color easy to find in the grass !
Things are coming along nicely in the Community Garden Plot, can you believe it's already been about a month since we planted? The Zuchini is starting to flower, and the Carrots and Beets are poking up.
Angelina is getting Houdini up to speed on something happening in the garden.

Oh he flies through the air...with the greatest of ease....it's Mr.Houdini getting ready for his next aerial assault on Angelina. It's just part of the day to day activities in the Urban Jungle.
Life is hard for the 2 as they chill out on the grass. They are both growing quickly, but we are convinced that Houdini is part horse and Angelina part Pitbull.
The 2 are very energetic and are constantly running and playing in the back yard.
Angelina likes to settle in a wooden bowl on the coffee table ....only she is quickly out growing her nap spot and will have to find a new one.
Houdini stretches out on the couch after a rough day of chasing bugs and squirrels. He gets comfortable in the strangest positions....
Houdini and Angelina continue their inspection of the Urban Jungle. With all the work and planting that has been going on it's always news and interesting.
The 3 do their favorite shark impressions as they hunt more bugs ....or treats....
