Ninja beats the heat ( it was over hot and steamy this afternoon) and enjoys the canopy of green around him. 
Little Angelina looks oh so regal (and quite Egyptian !) as she surveys her kingdom. She's an adorable little monster and should grow into her ears, soon, we think....
Mr. Houdini is growing up quickly (and a bit less gangly) and has the most adorable tufts of hair that stick out of his ears. With his long whiskers (and the ones that stick out like antennas on his forehead) his has a slightly alien look, yet so adorable.
This is another variety of the " Tradewinds" in white with deep purple centers. They will definately brighten the garden with all the green backdrop.
These deep purple flowers are called " Tradewinds" and will look even more stunning in a few weeks.
The back corner of the garden makes a pretty photo with all of the ferns, vines and the bird bath.
Things were planted last Thursday, and already there are hints of Morning Glory coming up in the boxes.
This is a look from the back of the Garden up towards the apartment. You might notice a couple of the furry beasts lounging around the yard.
This is the northeast corner of the garden, as seen from above. Soon there will be a large variety of lettuce and various herbs.
Just to give a better idea of the space in the Urban Jungle here's an overhead shot that shows most of the back part. All of the fishing line is up to attempt to keep the pigeons out. (or atleast complicate things for them)
We love having the deck in the back, and having a great place to settle in and relax and to have our meals during the warmer months.
The Gazing Globe hangs out in one corner of the garden, and if you look closely you can catch a glimpse of the gardener.
The back corner of the yard is all planted and we are eagerly awaiting the results. Soon we will be able to come out back and pick a salad... and I can hardly wait to see the beans and squash.
We have been busy bees all week... and the back flower beds are planted and the Gazebo all set up for the nice (and not so nice) weather.
Our champion climber (little Angelina) has discovered she can shimmy up the Apple Tree to it's towering height of about 6 feet... and wishes it went higher.
All of this work in the backyard and garden has been very tiring, so the boys take a break in the afternoon.

Things have been very busy for the past week with getting the Community Garden plot prepped and planted for this year. This year we are in a newer (and sunnier) spot and planted onions, beets, carrots, zuchini, radishes, cucumbers and peppers. The first strawberries are on their way !
Angelina loves Ninja so much... and likes to copy him so one of her many nicknames (besides Hoover and the little Monster) is Ninjette.
Spring continues and the Lily of the Valley has bloomed and started perfuming the garden.
