Romeo checking things out

Our little love monster has come a long way over the past year and has a great relationship with the other 2 beasts, all while staking out his own territory.
Romeo is probably one of the most independant kitties that I have had to date and he is often exploring the neighbourhood but always comes home as soon as he hears us (or the sound of us shaking food) and is a real charmer.

A closer look

Here's a closer look of the little monster as he explores the tree and tries to get at those birds. It's hard to believe that it has already been about one year since Romeo arrived in the yard and has made it his new home. Although he is not the biggest kitty (Houdini is huge compared to the other 2) he is very fit, active and loves his creature comforts.

Still not close enough...

Try as he might, Romeo can't get high enough to catch those pesky pigeons (and as you can see there are a couple of dozen of them up on the wires). Just wait until spring... I have the feeling he will be scaring them off (or worse) once the snow is gone.

WTF ??

Romeo is a little confused as to why there is a tunnel in the backyard now that leads to the bird feeders. There is a good 4 feet of snow accumulated in the backyard now and the entire jungle is under a thick blanket of snow.

Let's go sliding

Romeo was hesitant the first day, but had now been running around the yard and sliding in the snow like a little kid.

Brave New World

The boys are checking out the change in the yard as we got dumped on with a huge first snow storm of the season. Of course their first point of interest is the area around the bird feeders...

Feed the cat....

My sister sent me this video.... and who ever did this must have a cat as it is pretty much how Romeo tries to get us up each morning to be fed... more or less...

Catching 5

Houdini takes a break and snoozes beside the bird bath on a nice summer day. I definately envy the life of a cat ( in a good home ).

Hanging out & looking for trouble

The boys hang around in the back corner of the yard waiting to see if any butterflies or birds appear .... or anything else that looks fun to chase.

Do cats like celery?

Romeo is fascinated with either the celery or some bug in the garden..... the cats seem more interested in chasing things that move and digging than eating the plants.

Butterflies are fun-- and accidents happen

Romeo really loves the butterflies that check out the plants..... and must find them tasty as he as got quite a few this year.... next year the Peppers will be planted not as close to some of the other flowering plants as they suffered more than a few accidents from cats jumping on them.

Danger Zone

With having 3 cats, things are a little dangerous for the birds who might want to check out the feeders ( more than a few casualties so far this year ) and as you can see the beasts know where to hang around if they want to hunt the birds.

Romeo hanging around

Romeo has found his balance with the other kitties and is hanging around and enjoying the jungle. Fun and games for all.

Now if we could just convince the little pest to stop getting up at the crack of dawn it would be just a bit easier.

Spring has Sprung!

Spring has FINALLY sprung and the trio are out sniffing and checking out the first signs of spring. The tulips are on their way, some green grass is poking up and the first buds are appearing.
Angelina, Houdini and Romeo have been taking advantage of the warmth we have been having for the past few days.

Serendipity

Serendipity is the art of making an unsought finding, and that's how Romeo ( as we have named him ) made his way into the home. This little beast is about 9 months old, and has been with us for about a month now after the infamous Pigeon episode (long story). After checking around and not finding his home, he has been adopted into the fold and is making new friends with Angelina and Houdini.
He also bears a striking resemblance and very similar personality to Ninja which is weird in it's self, hence the often used phrase of it must be serendipity as he is completely at home with us and has been from the very moment he came through the door.
Ain't life strange and wonderful ?
